Maryland Society of Pathologists Summer Grant Program

The Maryland Society of Pathologists is excited to offer a unique Summer Internship Program for third- and fourth-year medical students interested in exploring a career in pathology. Each summer, two internships are available—one based in Maryland and one in Washington, DC.

Students interning in either Maryland or DC will have the opportunity to work at prestigious institutions such as the University of Maryland Baltimore, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Pathology, National Institutes of Health, or George Washington University Pathology. Students from Maryland can apply to intern in DC, and vice versa, with the flexibility to choose any of the listed institutions.

Benefits of the Grant Program:

    • Hands-on Pathology Experience: Work alongside leading professionals and gain firsthand insight into the daily workings of some of the most respected pathology programs.
    • Networking Opportunities: Collaborate with leading pathologists in Maryland and DC, building professional connections that can enhance your career trajectory.
    • Paid Internship: Receive compensation while gaining invaluable experience and strengthening your application credentials.

Application Process:

    • Timeline: Applications are open from November 1st through April 30th.
    • Requirements: Applicants must submit an application, indicate specific areas of interest in pathology, and write a brief essay on what they hope to gain from this internship experience.
